The devil exists and continues to act and, as is evident, we are all engaged in a spiritual battle, both personally and as a Church. To face this struggle, we need to equip ourselves with spiritual “weapons”.
Only God can give us victory
By carefully following the development of the messages of the Queen of Peace in which she denounces the action of Satan, who has been released from his chains (message of January 1, 2001), we gain very practical teachings that we can draw on to be ready to fight evil. Indeed, with extraordinary wisdom, Mary first tells us that our strength does not come from us, but from Jesus Christ. Only God can assure us victory; for this reason, in her messages the Queen of Peace points out several means of fundamental importance in the daily spiritual battle against the devil and his temptations. We report some of her instructions, which are always very simple and precise, as is her style.
Prayer
The greatest emphasis, without forgetting Confession and the Eucharist, is placed on prayer: «Through prayer you will be able to disarm him completely» (January 24, 1985); «With the Rosary you will overcome all the obstacles that Satan wants to place in the way of the Catholic Church at this time» (June 25, 1985); «Dear children, today I invite you to draw even closer to God through prayer; only in this way will I be able to help you and protect you from every satanic attack» (February 25, 1992); «Only through prayer can we overcome evil and protect everything that Satan wants to destroy in your life» (February 25, 1994).
Prayer places us in a daily state of grace and in relationship with God. If we regularly converse with God, we should never be afraid of the devil: «Especially now, when Satan is free from his chains. I invite you to consecrate yourselves to my heart and to the heart of my Son» (January 1, 2001); «Pray to the Holy Spirit to transform you and fill you with his strength of faith and hope so that you may stand firm in this struggle against evil» (April 25, 2015); «Satan shakes you as the wind does the waves of the sea. Therefore, let the chain of your life be prayer of the heart and adoration of my Son Jesus» (August 25, 2016).
Decision for God
Satan’s goal is to turn us away from God and lead us onto the path of sin, which blinds us and delivers us into his hands; yet with the weapons of the Queen of Peace, it is possible to confront him victoriously: «Decide completely for God and do not allow Satan to enter your life through those things that harm you and your spiritual life» (February 25, 1990); «I invite you to be courageous and not give up, because even the smallest good, the smallest sign of love, always conquers the evil that is becoming increasingly visible» (October 2, 2018); «Seek above all the things of God and leave to the earth the things of the earth, because Satan draws you toward dust and sin. You are called to holiness and created for heaven» (January 25, 2018).
Daily training
It is extraordinary how, in her simple yet sublime suggestions, the Mother of God presents once again the great teachings of the masters of the interior life on spiritual warfare. This daily training of the Christian also includes small acts of devotion, always carrying blessed objects with us (July 19, 1985), sacrifices, mortifications, renunciations… Without this daily training, in fact, the will is unprepared to face the moment of spiritual warfare.
By revealing the presence and action of the evil one to us, the Queen of Peace aims to train us for the daily battle to lead us together with her to victory.
So, let us take courage and put his advice into practice.
