Blessed Carlo Acutis had conceived and created a beautiful traveling exhibition on Eucharistic Miracles. This exhibition continues to tour Italy and the world; all the Eucharistic miracles featured in the exhibition have been collected in the book Eucharistic Miracles in the World, from which this text is taken.

On October 12, 2013, His Excellency Monsignor Alejo Zavala Castro, Bishop of the Diocese of Chilpancingo-Chilapa, announced in a pastoral letter the recognition of the Eucharistic miracle that occurred in Tixtla on October 21, 2006.
The letter states: βThis manifestation brings us a wonderful sign of Godβs love, which confirms the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist [β¦].
In my role as Bishop of the diocese, I recognize the supernatural nature of the series of events observed in the bleeding host of Tixtla [β¦].
I declare the case to be a βdivine sign.β
On October 21, 2006, a reddish substance was observed flowing from a consecrated host during the Eucharistic celebration in Tixtla, which belongs to the Diocese of Chilpancingo-Chilapa. The local bishop, Monsignor Alejo Zavala Castro, then convened a theological commission of inquiry and, in October 2009, invited Dr. Ricardo CastaΓ±on Gomez to take charge of the scientific research program, whose purpose was precisely to establish the facts of the event. The Mexican ecclesiastical authorities contacted Dr. CastaΓ±on Gomez because they knew that, between 1999 and 2006, the scientist had conducted studies on two consecrated hosts that had also bled in the parish of Santa Maria in Buenos Aires.Β
The Mexican case began in October 2006, when Father Leopoldo Roque, parish priest of the parish of Saint Martin of Tours, invited Father Raymundo Reyna Esteban to lead a spiritual retreat for his parishioners. While Father Leopoldo and another priest were distributing Communion, assisted by a religious sister who was standing to Father Raymundoβs left, the latter went toward him with the βciboriumβ containing the sacred hosts, looking at the priest with tear-filled eyes; an event that immediately drew the celebrantβs attention: the host he had taken to give Communion to a parishioner had begun to exude a reddish substance.

The scientific research conducted between October 2009-2012 reached the following conclusions, presented on May 25, 2013, during an international symposium convened by the Diocese of Chilpancingo on the occasion of the Year of Faith, attended by thousands of people from four continents:
Β«1. The reddish substance analyzed corresponds to blood containing hemoglobin and DNA of human origin.
2. Two studies conducted by eminent forensic experts using different methodologies demonstrated that the substance came from within, ruling out the hypothesis that someone could have placed it from outside.
3. The blood type is AB, similar to that found in the host of Lanciano and the Holy Shroud of Turin.
4. A microscopic analysis with magnification and penetration reveals that the upper part of the blood has been coagulated since October 2006. However, the underlying inner layers revealed, in February 2010, the presence of fresh blood.
5. Intact white blood cells, red blood cells, and active macrophages phagocytizing lipids were also found. The tissue in question appears torn and shows repair mechanisms exactly as occurs in living tissue.
6. A further histopathological analysis determined the presence of deteriorating protein structures, suggesting mesenchymal cells, highly special cells characterized by elevated bio-physiological dynamism.
7. Immunohistochemical studies reveal that the tissue found corresponds to heart muscle (myocardium).

In view of the scientific results and the conclusions reached by the theological committee, the bishop of Chilpancingo, His Eminence Alejo Zavala Castro, announced the following:
The event has no natural explanation.
β It is not of paranormal origin.
β It cannot be attributed to manipulation by the enemyΒ».
