A thought for those we love
During our days, we often find ourselves thinking of our loved ones, those we love and who love us. Carrying them within us makes us feel them close, indissolubly bound to us, and us to them, through love.
Spiritual life and its relationships are not very different from this everyday reality. Just as each day we can think of our mother, father, children, friends... so we can think of our Mother in heaven. Mary is our mother, and keeping her in our hearts, addressing a prayer to her, and invoking her presence helps us to know her and entrust ourselves to her loving care.
Peace in the heart through prayer
For centuries, the Church has used an infallible method for loving Mary and allowing ourselves to be loved by her: praying the Rosary. A method that continually brings us back to the Gospel and reminds each person of Jesusβ and Maryβs love for everyone.
Turning to the Virgin Mary through the contemplative repetition of the βHail Mary,β while meditating on the life of Jesus, brings peace to the heart, strength to the spirit, and vigor to the body.
The newness of the Rosary
Perhaps when we think of the Rosary - especially if it has been a while since we last prayed it, or if we have only heard about it - we may feel a certain βdistanceβ from a method of prayer with centuries of history.
Yet the Rosary is an ever-new prayer, because we are always changing, the meditations connected to the mysteries can always be new, and because, in addition to the traditional Rosaries, Rosaries featuring other prayers can also be prayed.
A special Rosary for the month of July
For example, during this month of July, dedicated to the most precious blood, we could try praying a Rosary dedicated to the most precious blood... who knows, perhaps we may fall in love with this way of praying?
Meditating, praying, and reflecting on the most precious blood may lead us to listen faithfully once again to the Word of God, find moments of contemplation throughout the day, and live in docile obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit, growing in collaboration and fraternal communion.
