March 21… Finally, it’s spring!
Spring is a season that speaks of rebirth and life, of sunshine and joy… Everything shines again, and nature dresses itself in colors!
The undisputed stars of this natural spectacle are undoubtedly the flowers, which not only paint rainbows across the newly green meadows but, as we know, can also speak. Flowers are associated with a “silent” language that we want to rediscover today, on the threshold of this new spring.
The secret meaning of flowers
Every flower holds a message: for example, the daisy means innocence or purity; the violet signifies humility, tenderness, modesty, and forgiveness; lilies represent purity, violets symbolize forgiveness, and marigolds repentance.

Say it with flowers
By giving a flower, you can speak without using words!
For example, when a violet is given as a gift, it is used to wish someone good luck as they embark on a new path or project.
A beautiful bouquet of daisies is a suitable gift for a fifth wedding anniversary, while a bouquet of daisies can be given to a new mother.
The tulip, on the other hand, symbolizes balanced relationships and therefore conveys a sincere relationship of love and friendship. The different colors of poppies then indicate different messages:
Red tulip: speaks of and declares love.
Pink tulip: a sign of affectionate love or friendship.
White tulip: used to ask for forgiveness.
Yellow tulip: used to wish acquaintances or colleagues a good day, but it can also signify unrequited love.
The many colors of roses
The rose is something of the “queen of flowers” and conveys different messages depending on the color of its petals.
Red rose: symbolizes passion and love.
Orange rose: indicates charm and beauty.
White rose: symbolizes innocence and therefore indicates pure and spiritual love.
Pink rose: indicates friendship. It can be given to a female or male friend as a sign of affection.
Blue rose: represents mystery and wisdom.
Yellow rose: may indicate liveliness, but also jealousy.

A glance at heaven
The rose is the flower traditionally associated with the Virgin Mary: it is commonly said that, when praying the Rosary, one is giving Mary a crown of roses. It is beautiful to think of this while we pray to our heavenly Mother!
The rose is also a flower associated with Saint Thérèse of Lisieux: you can confidently pray the novena of roses to her. The origin of this novena is linked to the fact that Saint Thérèse had said: «You will see at the time of my death what a shower of roses I will make rain down upon the earth». In this case, the roses symbolize graces. She, who also said, «I will spend my heaven doing good on earth», is surely still busy making roses rain down.
Finally, how could we forget Saint Rita, who, confined to bed, made a special request to her cousin: to bring her a rose in the middle of winter! And the woman found that rose… It is no coincidence that Rita is the patron saint of impossible cases!
Flowers enchant heaven and earth; they are a sign of life and kindness. Let’s learn to speak through them!
