Lent: a time to savor

March 8

First reflection of the First Week of Lent

In the first week of Lent, we allow ourselves to be challenged by the meditations of Father Bruno Tarantino. Reflections that… cannot leave us indifferent:

«Certainly, the main protagonist of the Gospel accounts of the passion-death-resurrection is Jesus, but he is not the only one. There are others who were the first to begin a difficult struggle with themselves and with that Man who proclaimed himself the Messiah…

The prot-agonist of this story of passion-death-resurrection, Jesus of Nazareth, is a somewhat unusual prot-agonist. He does not take the spotlight away from anyone, but brings out each person’s innermost truth.
There could be many co-prot-agonists on whom to focus our attention; here I have chosen to give a voice to three of them: Judas Iscariot, Simon Peter, and Pontius Pilate.
In and with them, we become contemporaries of a story that, although it took place about two thousand years ago, continues to unfold in our days and co-strings us together, that is, binds us together because, while it is true that we can be faster on our own, it is even more true that together we can be safer».

Do I prefer to do it alone, because two heads are better than one, or do I ask for help and collaborate?

I’ll see you tomorrow morning to continue reflecting together!
