Many virtual candles
A Hail Mary for Pope Francis on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his pontificate. This is the wonderful initiative launched by the Digital Synod, a network of web missionaries who participate in the synodal journey by engaging in dialogue with those who populate the digital world and sharing their Christian experience.
The initiative involves lighting many virtual candles through a link that will be active until March 13. The website invites visitors to pray one or more Hail Marys, and at the end the Holy Father may be shown the “map” with the many virtual candles that have been lit, representing the Hail Marys prayed for him—a way to make him feel the closeness and affection of all those who have prayed for him.
Closeness and affection
The Holy Father is always close to everyone with heartfelt concern and countless thoughtful gestures. Many times, he has shown his paternal affection through a letter or a phone call, in many situations of hardship and loneliness. He has also always cared deeply about the fate of the world and humanity, continually reaffirming the futility of wars and the importance of protecting the environment.
Pope Francis carries us all in his heart, and the tenth anniversary of his pontificate is the perfect opportunity to let our beloved Pontiff know that he, too, is in our hearts.
