With Bare Hands. Father Pino Puglisi

Don Giuseppe Puglisi, known to everyone as Pino, was killed by the Mafia on September 15, 1993, in the Palermo neighborhood of Brancaccio, where he was born and raised. His commitment, charisma, and exemplary life ensure that “Don Puglisi still speaks to the conscience of our time,” as Minister Andrea Riccardi writes in the preface. “The pages of this volume,” Riccardi continues, “give the reader a well-rounded portrait of the parish priest of Brancaccio, a man full of life, dreams, and questions, a true Christian, a Sicilian who was neither self-referential nor burdened by complexes,” a figure who deserves to be understood and to emerge “in all his fascinating greatness.” Edizioni San Paolo
