Blessed Rolando Rivi, seminarian and martyr

Journalist and writer Emilio Bonicelli tells, in an intense and compelling way, the story of Rolando Rivi, who at just 14 years old gave his life for Jesus. After entering the seminary, Rolando courageously bore witness to his faith and charity, always wearing the cassock, a sign - as he used to say - of his belonging to the Lord. For this reason, he became a victim of the hatred against priests that spread toward the end of the war. In April 1945, Rolando was kidnapped, brutally tortured, and killed for the sole “crime” of guiding other boys toward the Christian experience. Rolando is an icon of the many Christian martyrs of our time. He was beatified on October 5, 2013.
