Descrizione

The 2027 Liturgical Calendar for the Roman Rite is the essential pocket guide for living the pastoral year in constant communion with the Word of God. Published by Editrice Shalom, it offers priests, religious, and lay faithful an accurate daily guide for preparing for Holy Mass and for personal prayer.

This pocket liturgical calendar is designed to accompany the prayer of the ecclesial community and individual faithful throughout the entire year of salvation. The work begins with the First Sunday of Advent (November 29, 2026) and concludes with the last Sunday of the liturgical year, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe (November 21, 2027). For 2027, the Lectionary follows the cycle of Year B for Sundays and solemnities, and Year I (odd-numbered year) for the daily weekday cycle.

Precision and details of the daily celebration

Each day of the year is presented with absolute theological and liturgical rigor, offering at a glance all the information necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist and the Liturgy of the Hours:

  • Rank of the celebration: it is clearly specified whether it is a Solemnity, Feast, Obligatory Memorial, or Optional Memorial, including commemorations and the proper indications for Saturdays in Ordinary Time dedicated to Saint Mary on Saturday.

  • Liturgical color: the color designation of the vestments (white, red, green, violet) is indicated to guide the day's liturgy correctly.

  • Biblical references and psalmody: for each Holy Mass, the exact passages of the readings and the text of the responsorial Psalm refrain are provided. The corresponding week of the Psalter (in Roman numerals) is also indicated for praying the Liturgy of the Hours.

  • Sanctorum and Martyrology: on weekdays without fixed observances, a saint from the Roman Martyrology or the proper calendars of local Churches is suggested.

Devotional inserts and the Holy Father's intentions

In addition to strictly liturgical sections, the volume includes an extensive supplementary section designed to foster popular devotion and prayers of intercession:

  • Traditional prayers: a final insert contains the texts of the Angelus, the Regina Caeli (for the Easter Season), the complete Holy Rosary (with brief meditative intentions for the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries), the Salve Regina, and the Litany of Loreto.

  • Prayer Apostolate: the monthly intentions entrusted by the Pope to his World Prayer Network for 2027 are reproduced in full.

  • Marian Consecration: the back cover features the formula for the "Consecration to Jesus through Mary," taken from the writings of Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort.
