Handcrafted candle in a ceramic bowl with altar wax – Dominican Sisters

Handcrafted candle made by the Dominican nuns of the Monastery of Saint Mary of the Snows in Pratovecchio (AR), produced by reclaiming the wax from candles used on the altar of their church, infused with their prayer. A candle that becomes a testament to a love received and given back, and that wishes to burn once again in our homes as an act of care, prayer, and beauty. An object of profound spiritual and symbolic value, the result of monastic craftsmanship.

The reclaimed wax has been placed in an elegant drop-shaped ceramic bowl, made by a company in Arezzo. The flame has always symbolized vigilance and faith, but it also reminds us that we are called to be light, to make the gifts with which we are filled shine forth: "You are the light of the world; a city set on a mountain cannot be hidden, nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a bushel basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to everyone in the house" (cf. Mt 5:14-15).
