Descrizione
Chasuble made of a polyester and wool blend fabric, with gold embroidery applied by machine directly onto the fabric. It features a central JHS motif, along with a series of ears of wheat and grape clusters extending over the shoulders and chest. Made in Poland by a company of artisans. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal indicates the chasuble as the proper vestment of the priest when celebrating Mass and performing actions closely connected with it. Originally, this vestment reached the heels, covering every part of the priest’s body. Over time, its length underwent many changes, including around the arms, eventually becoming a rigid garment that covered only the shoulders and torso and fastened at the sides (planeta). It was only during the 20th century that the chasuble assumed its current dimensions. The color of the chasuble is determined by the liturgical season.
