Dilexi Te. Apostolic exhortation on love for the poor by Pope Leo XIV

“I have loved you”: with these words begins the first great act of Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate. Dilexi te is not merely an apostolic exhortation: it is an urgent invitation to rediscover Christ’s face in the poor, and to live a faith expressed through justice, compassion, and hope. In a world marked by inequality and indifference, this text shakes consciences and awakens the desire for a poorer, closer, more authentic Church. With an accessible yet profound style, Pope Leo XIV speaks to everyone, pointing to three pillars that guide the journey: the Eucharist as nourishment for the community, education as liberation from spiritual poverty, and service as an expression of love. A document to read, reflect on, and live out. Because love - true love - changes everything.
