Don Dolindo Ruotolo on the Heights of the Beatitudes

From the perspective of the Beatitudes, the figure of Don Dolindo emerges: a versatile priest who made his relationship with the Lord his strength, despite the trials of life that did not spare him. The text is well suited to serve as a means of spiritual accompaniment for those who retain a memory of this holy Neapolitan priest. But also for those who know how to appreciate the life testimony of someone who knew how to work among and with the people, in the working-class neighborhoods of a large city. An inspired choice to show how the finest exegesis of the Beatitudes is that offered by those who have interpreted them through their lives. And Don Dolindo is one of them. From the Presentation by Mons. Francesco Oliva, a particular image comes to mind to describe Don Dolindo’s personality: that of a loving parent who, seeing a child fall on hard times, invests all his energy and resources in helping him. In doing so, he will employ every possible strategy, demonstrating boundless love. This wonderful image of a father who loves his child unconditionally, to the point of giving everything of himself for him, reflects very well the multifaceted personality of Don Dolindo. Pasquale Rea
