Until my star shines

The evening Liliana is told that she will no longer be allowed to attend school, she does not even know that she is Jewish. In a short time, the games, horseback rides, and gifts from her father become a memory, and Liliana finds herself first ostracized, then homeless, and finally on the run and arrested. At thirteen, she is deported to Auschwitz. She leaves on January 30, 1944, from Platform 21 at Milan Central Station and will be the only child on that train to return. Every evening in the camp, she searched the sky for her star. Then she repeated to herself: as long as I am alive, you will continue to shine.
