The Little Flowers of St. Clare

The book recounts the life of Saint Clare of Assisi through the “little flowers,” that is, stories of certain episodes that either actually occurred or were passed down through popular tradition. All this helps deepen understanding of the spirituality of Saint Clare and the Poor Clare sisters. The book contains 26 little flowers portraying the saint, the spiritual daughter of Saint Francis: a humble and charitable religious woman toward her fellow sisters, courageous and trusting in Jesus, even under the threat of the Saracens, and determined and free in drafting the Rule. Each story is followed by a writing by Clare, a brief commentary to facilitate understanding, and a concluding prayer of invocation. The reader is enveloped in a special atmosphere, at times almost fairy-tale-like, while receiving an edifying message for their own life and spiritual growth.
