The Saints of the Missal. Armida Barelli. Her Life, Writings

Don Andrea Vena sketches a concise biographical profile of Blessed Armida Barelli, an indefatigable woman of God who found in the Sacred Heart of Jesus the driving force behind all her actions. She was the first president of Catholic Action's Women's Youth, founder of the Missionaries of the Kingship of Christ, and one of the founders of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, but above all she was an “extraordinarily ordinary woman who, in the everyday practice of her work, knew how to sanctify herself and the people with whom she came into contact.” She left us the spiritual legacy of “weaving meaningful relationships among ourselves, marked by the desire to love and to help others love the Lord Jesus” (Father Ernesto Dezza, OFM, from the Preface). The profile is followed by a brief but meaningful anthology of writings that allows us to enter more deeply into Armida's inner life and appreciate her profound spirituality.
