The Heart of Padre Pio

This is not yet another book about Padre Pio, but a journey to discover the intimate and hidden secrets of an extraordinary saint, one of the most loved and venerated in the world. Why extraordinary? Certainly because of his mystical experiences. However, by delving deeper, Father Giuseppe Giacomelli reveals the true secret of Padre Pio's holiness: his daily life, consisting of prayer, obedience, Mass, hours spent hearing confessions, and listening to pilgrims.Through anecdotes - sometimes even amusing - told by those who experienced them firsthand, the Saint's most effective teachings emerge with simplicity and immediacy: those that spring from his heart. The appeal of writings by and about Padre Pio, together with a collection of prayers, helps to shape a vivid and contemporary portrait of this true "giant" of holiness.
