I am not afraid. The story of Francesca Pedrazzini

“I am not afraid.” Francesca said it clearly, almost out loud, as she lifted her head. “Summoning her last reserves of strength,” people say in such cases, using a stock phrase. But the opposite is true. All her strength came from that certainty, which she had repeated to her husband a few hours before she died: “I am not afraid.” The same words she shared with a friend the day before: “Every day has served a purpose, because each day I entrusted all my loved ones to Our Lady. Time is precious. I am not afraid; I am happy.” The same certainty that shaped her life and death, joy and sorrow, health and illness. The certainty of Christ. Faith. The luminous, courageous story of a woman who faced illness without fear. “If the miracle of healing does not happen, something greater will happen.” Edizioni San Paolo
