The art of healing

In this new volume, Father Fabio Rosini proposes a personal (and therefore universal) journey toward healing one’s inner and emotional life. The guide is a sick woman from two thousand years ago, the woman with the hemorrhage, whom we meet in the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Mark, and whose paradigmatic and symbolic healing process is examined. The journey is divided into three stages - diagnosis, healing, and lasting health - and proceeds through useful questions to ask in the presence of the One who loves us, allowing Him to gradually provide the answers. The secret of diagnosis is identifying the symptoms of the twisted attitudes we produce in our lives, so as to shed light on the falsehoods we carry in our hearts. At that point, the real adventure begins: it starts with a sound reaching our ears, the voice of someone speaking about Jesus and awakening in us the desire to “touch Him” in order to establish contact with Him. In doing so, we experience the power that goes forth from Him, that is, His Life, which can regenerate us. Once healed, we are able to call “the whole truth” by name, because we are in His presence. The destination of the journey is to master the wise art of healing, which is a healthy way of life: remaining within a constant process of caring for ourselves and walking in peace, while humbly coming to terms with our fragility.
