The Gospel as it was revealed to me. Volume I

The first volume of Maria Valtorta's work «The Gospel as Revealed to Me» covers the birth of Mary and Jesus and the first year of Jesus' public life. The complete work consists of 10 volumes. It recounts the birth and childhood of the Virgin Mary and her Son Jesus, the three years of Jesus' public life (which make up the largest part), his passion, death, resurrection, and ascension, the beginnings of the Church, and Mary's assumption. The complete work describes landscapes, settings, people, and events with the vividness of a representation; it presents characters and situations, and conveys joys and dramas with the feelings of someone who is actually taking part; it provides information about environmental features, customs, rites, and cultures.
