Luigi and Zélie Martin, parents worthy of heaven

In a world where the value of marriage and family is under threat, this book tells the story of a married couple and presents it as an example: they lived their love and everyday life, with its joys and sorrows, always looking toward heaven and offering everything to Jesus through a prayer that was continually expressed in their lives. The Martins’ home was, in fact, a small domestic church, where a kind of “daily liturgy” took place, celebrated by Louis and Zélie themselves: daily Mass, frequent confession, nighttime adoration, parish activities, charity toward others, and scrupulous observance of Sunday rest. In an atmosphere of such deep and authentic spirituality, fruitful and holy vocations could not fail to take root: all five daughters who reached adulthood decided to consecrate themselves to the Lord (one of them was Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus).
