In the Light of Ghiaie. The True Story

The book retraces the events surrounding the apparitions that took place in Ghiaie di Bonate in May 1944. The authors, married couple Giuseppe and Annunciata Riva, who have an in-depth knowledge of these apparitions, offer an accessible account of the events, focusing on the life and testimony of Adelaide Roncalli, beginning with her childhood, and also highlighting previously unpublished details. The importance and significance of these apparitions are aptly summarized by Monsignor Giovanni d'Ercole, who wrote the introduction to the book: “Ghiaie di Bonate can become a beacon of hope for those who work to defend the dignity of families, our families, which we all know are confronted with the anxieties and hopes that accompany contemporary life.” The Church has not yet expressed a position on these events. In 2019, however, the Bishop of Bergamo, Monsignor Francesco Beschi - at the conclusion of the Holy See's procedure and on the basis of its indications - declared that he authorized, promoted, safeguarded, and accompanied devotion to “Mary, Queen of the Family” at the parish chapel in Ghiaie di Bonate.
