Note: "Queen of Peace" Regarding the Spiritual Experience Associated with Medjugorje

This text is the result of an extensive discernment process by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith concerning the complex spiritual experience associated with the phenomena of Medjugorje, one of the most visited Marian devotion sites, culminating in the Note approved by Pope Francis last August 28. The conclusions expressed in the Note are based on the current Norms for Proceeding in the Discernment of Alleged Supernatural Phenomena and are explained in the presentations at the press conference held to introduce it, delivered by Monsignor Armando Matteo, Secretary for the Doctrinal Section of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith; Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, Prefect of the same Dicastery; and Dr. Andrea Tornielli, Editorial Director of the Dicastery for Communication.
