Terracotta depiction of the Flight into Egypt. Height 8,5 cm

A charming and joyful depiction of the famous episode from Jesus’s childhood: the flight into Egypt, in which Joseph and Mary flee to Egypt with the newborn Jesus after the visit of the Magi and after learning of King Herod’s intention to kill all the firstborn children. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph are seated on a donkey. Made of polychrome terracotta. Kenty was created as part of a solidarity project designed to generate employment and growth opportunities in places far from us, often in highly disadvantaged areas such as Peru, Ecuador, Thailand, and Indonesia. Years of work on cooperation projects, a passion for all forms of folk art and craftsmanship, professional expertise developed in the field, and great enthusiasm have been the ingredients for carrying this project forward with artisan families, refugees, and small cooperatives of young people. With them, Kenty produces nativity scenes, objects, small pieces of furniture, and jewelry made entirely by hand, using eco-friendly materials, with careful attention to recycling and the artisanal techniques of each country. Every product is created through teamwork, through an encounter between different forms of creativity and stories, with the precise intention of bringing the past toward the future and becoming a means of communication between worlds so far apart that they often do not know one another.
