Resin statuette (24.50 cm tall) depicting the blessed Virgin Mary of Loreto, also known as the Black Madonna, protector of migrants and travelers. Its distinctive feature is the dark face, common among the oldest icons, caused by smoke from oil lamps and candles or by chemical changes affecting the original colors. The Madonna is wearing the dalmatic, the characteristic jeweled mantle, white in this version, and holding her Son Jesus in her arms.
