Resin statuette (18 cm tall) depicting the blessed Virgin Mary of Loreto, also known as the Black Madonna, patron saint of migrants and travelers. Its distinctive feature is the dark face, common in the oldest icons, caused by smoke from oil lamps and candles or by chemical changes affecting the original colors. The Madonna is dressed in the dalmatic, the characteristic jewel-encrusted mantle, gilded in this version, and holds her Son Jesus in her arms.
