Sister Maria of Jesus of Ágreda. The Marian mystic of Moncayo

The book presents for the first time, in a translation accessible to the general public, the valuable work by Father Gaspar Calvo Moralejo on the venerable Sister Maria of Jesus of Ágreda, giving everyone the extraordinary opportunity to learn about the life and spirituality of this great Spanish mystic, who lived in Baroque Spain. The author accurately and thoroughly traces the course of her remarkable life, enriched by many graces: ecstasies, visions of Jesus and Mary, interior locutions, and revelations; as well as the gift of bilocation, which enabled her to be a missionary and evangelizer in the land of New Mexico without ever leaving the monastery. Father Gaspar Calvo Moralejo reconstructs the setting, ideas, and spiritual currents of the time in which Sister Maria of Ágreda lived, portraying her faithfully and highlighting the inestimable value of her literary work. The Venerable was in fact the author of several writings, foremost among them The Mystical City of God, a work that recounts the life of Mary as it was revealed to her by the Virgin herself.
