When?
On Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, 2023, the churches of dioceses around the world will unite in the “24 Hours for the Lord” initiative, an opportunity to experience the sacrament of Reconciliation in a context of Eucharistic adoration. This year’s guiding words are: «Have mercy on me, a sinner» (Lk 18:13).
How?
Every parish will surely find its own way to live this time with the Lord, but, to help everyone and provide an outline to follow, the Dicastery for Evangelization has prepared a resource offering outlines for prayer, meditation, adoration, and further study.
What?
The first part of the resource offers a reflection on the sacrament of Reconciliation and on the examination of conscience, as well as practical guidance on how to go to confession (so that even those who are most “out of practice” can be helped).
The second part helps all those who spend the day and night in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament: a prayer vigil, a lectio divina, and Pope Francis’s prayer of the heart will make those moments unforgettable.
And afterwards?
After experiencing the beautiful event of “24 Hours for the Lord,” you can continue to reflect and pray with the help of this resource. The life testimonies of Phan Thi Kim Phúc and the Servant of God Giancarlo Rastelli will be lights that illuminate the journey even when the road seems dark.
