From July 23 to 26, 2026, Editrice Shalom took part in ExpoCatólica 2026 in São Paulo, in partnership with Virtutibus. It was four days of meetings and dialogue that represented an important opportunity to present our publishing work outside Italy as well and to build new relationships in the international Catholic landscape.

The nineteenth edition of ExpoCatólica was held at the Pro Magno Centro de Eventos in São Paulo, bringing together organizations and companies from Brazil and abroad around the theme “Clothed in faith, cultivating the future of evangelization”.

ExpoCatólica 2026, an international gathering for the Catholic world

ExpoCatólica is an international trade fair dedicated to products and services for the Church and serves as a meeting place for publishing, communications, sacred art, religious tourism, technology, and many other areas connected with the Catholic world.

The 2026 edition recorded 69,978 visitors and 260 exhibitors, bringing together priests, religious, pastoral workers, industry professionals, ecclesial institutions and organizations, as well as visitors from Brazil and other countries. The data released by the organizers also highlight the event’s growing internationalization and its role in fostering relationships between the Brazilian religious market, Latin America, and Europe.

For Editrice Shalom, being present in São Paulo meant making direct contact with this broad and diverse environment.

Editrice Shalom and Virtutibus together in São Paulo

The participation of Editrice Shalom alongside Virtutibus was an opportunity to present our publishing experience and meet professionals, industry representatives, and organizations interested in disseminating Catholic content.

Dialogue with people from different backgrounds broadened our perspective beyond the Italian market, with particular attention to opportunities for publishing collaboration and co-publication.

It was a valuable exchange that allowed us to gain a closer understanding of the needs, sensitivities, and perspectives of a market such as Brazil’s, where the Catholic presence is deeply rooted and the publishing and religious sectors offer countless opportunities for connection and collaboration.

Books that cross languages and borders

A book can be born in one country and find readers thousands of miles away. That is why, for us, taking part in an international event such as ExpoCatólica has a significance that goes beyond the fair itself.

Bringing Editrice Shalom to Brazil means bringing different publishing experiences into dialogue and opening new paths so that books on prayer, spirituality, formation, and devotion can reach new readers, including through translations, co-publications, and collaborations with international partners.

It is also an opportunity to listen: to learn about other Catholic realities, meet those who work every day in publishing and evangelization, and understand how content born from our experience can be welcomed and valued in different cultures and languages.

A new stage in Editrice Shalom’s international journey

The experience of ExpoCatólica 2026 thus represents a new stage in Editrice Shalom’s journey toward a presence increasingly open to international dialogue.

We thank Virtutibus for sharing this experience with us and everyone we met during the days of the fair.

From São Paulo, we return with new contacts, new dialogues, and, above all, the awareness that the Catholic publishing market can build bridges between different countries while keeping one shared mission at its center: through books, to bring a word capable of accompanying people throughout their lives and journey of faith.
