Blessed Carlo Acutis conceived and created a beautiful traveling exhibition on Eucharistic Miracles. This exhibition continues to travel throughout Italy and the world; all the Eucharistic miracles featured in the exhibition have been collected in the book Eucharistic Miracles of the World, from which this text is taken.

In 1957, the parish church of Saint Maiolus the Abbot in Albignano (MI) was the site of an important Eucharistic miracle, similar to the one that occurred in Siena.
Here too, one can speak of a permanent miracle in which the natural laws governing the preservation of the organic matter of unleavened bread have been reversed; as is known, after a very short time, it tends to become moldy and completely crumble into dust.
The host from the miracle of Albignano remains incorrupt to this day, despite the passage of 61 years.
The parish of Saint Maiolus the Abbot is located in the small municipality of Albignano d’Adda, about 25 km from Milan. It houses two precious urns containing the remains of the bodies of the martyrs Saint Irenaeus, Saint Didolus, and Saint Recelus, donated by the Count of Anguissola in 1728. In addition to these illustrious guests, however, the so-called Chapel of the Bread preserves a consecrated host that, despite the passage of 61 years, remains intact. This host was at the center of a Eucharistic miracle similar to those that occurred in Siena and San Mauro La Bruca (SA).

The events unfolded more or less as follows. During the night between March 6 and 7, 1957, at around 1:00 a.m., two thieves stealthily entered the church to rob it. Among the items they took was a monstrance containing a consecrated host. Some worshippers, attracted by the noises, realized that the thieves were inside the church and began shouting. Seeing that they had been discovered, the criminals fled with the stolen goods. One of the sacks, which also contained the monstrance and was very heavy, was abandoned in the meadow, which at the time was adjacent to the church. The sacred particle slipped out of the monstrance and was immediately found by the parish priest at the time, Father Cornelio Cossù, who placed it in a case tied shut with string, with a note on top bearing these words: «Do not touch, host of the sacrilege».

A noteworthy detail is that a fine drizzle was falling that night, but it did not damage the sacred host, which is still perfectly white and shows no sign of mold. Father Giorgio Lattuada, the current parish priest of the church of the miracle, consumed a fragment of the miraculous host that had broken off, noting that it still has a fresh, fragrant taste, as if it had been taken from a newly made host. In the Chapel of the Bread, a destination for numerous pilgrimages, the Liturgy of the Hours is celebrated every day at Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer. Father Giorgio has asked the Archdiocese of Milan to begin a canonical investigation to definitively confirm the miracle.
