With volume 5 of the Quaderni del Concilio collection, the exploration of the dogmatic constitution Dei Verbum comes to a close.
The reading of the concluding part of the document is accompanied by Marco Cardinali, a theologian and communications expert, who focuses in detail on chapter six, Sacred Scripture in the Life of the Church.

A Word to live by
The approval of Dei Verbum took place at the end of the Council, on November 18, 1965, and we can say that its maturation throughout the proceedings constituted the Council's fundamental turning point.
The Word of God once again becomes the center of Christian life, understood within an existential horizon that closely touches the life of every believer.
The Word in everyday life
With chapter six, while remaining anchored in the theological depth found in the previous five chapters, we gradually enter a more pastoral, everyday, and certainly fascinating and topical horizon. Paths and themes thus emerge that deeply involve the life of faith, including aspects more closely related to its daily practice.
The Word is handed down in its essence; through it, God desires to make himself known and enter into a loving dialogue with his creature: “The invisible God, out of the abundance of his love, speaks to men as friends and lives among them, so that he may invite and take them into fellowship with himself” (DV 2).
We are God's friends; Sacred Scripture reveals this to us, and is God our friend?
