Third reflection of the fourth week of Lent

«What matters above all for the believer is that the Shroud is a mirror of the Gospel. Indeed, when reflecting on the sacred Linen, one cannot overlook the fact that the image present on it has such a profound relationship with what the Gospels recount about the passion and death of Jesus that every sensitive person feels inwardly touched and moved when contemplating it. Whoever approaches it is also aware that the Shroud does not hold people’s hearts captive in itself, but points to the One in whose service the Father’s loving Providence has placed it. Therefore, it is right to be aware of the preciousness of this image, which everyone can see and which no one can yet explain. For every thoughtful person, it is a source of profound reflections that can come to involve one’s life. The Shroud thus constitutes a truly unique sign pointing to Jesus, the true Word of the Father, and inviting us to model our lives on that of the One who gave himself for us» (John Paul II).
Do I recognize God’s presence in the signs that I sometimes see in my life?
I’ll be waiting for you tomorrow morning to continue reflecting together!
