Are you familiar with the water of Merciful Love? It is one of the wonders of the Sanctuary of Collevalenza (PG); it is a gift that divine providence has given us through Mother Speranza. Let’s discover it together!
A little history
It was Mother Speranza who firmly insisted on the construction of the well, located beside the Basilica of Merciful Love, after receiving an inspiration of a supernatural nature.
Mother Speranza declared that, through this water, wonders will be renewed, meaning that healings from “serious illnesses,” even incurable ones, will take place. In this sense, the Sanctuary’s water should be regarded as a sign of grace and an instrument of the Lord’s Mercy.
Spiritual message
The special purpose of this water is closely linked to the spiritual message proclaimed at the Sanctuary, where the Lord also wishes to heal incurable illnesses, to help us understand that His Mercy can heal us from every form of spiritual infirmity.
This profound connection between the Sanctuary and the Pools is evident in the text of the parchment that was placed in a special container and lowered to the bottom of the well on July 14, 1960, during a simple ceremony. These are words received by Mother Speranza during an ecstasy on April 3 of that year, and they have particular official significance:
“Decree. This water and the Pools shall be given the name of my Sanctuary. I want you to tell everyone who turns to you, until it is engraved in their hearts and minds, to use this water with great faith and trust, and they will always be freed from serious illnesses; and that they should first come here to care for their poor souls from the wounds afflicting them, to this Sanctuary of mine where they will find not a judge who will condemn them and immediately punish them, but a Father who loves them, forgives them, does not hold anything against them, and forgets.”
God’s Mercy never leaves us alone, not even in times of hardship and illness. Mother Speranza and the miraculous water are a visible sign of His great love for us.
