Amoris Laetitia. Post-synodal apostolic exhortation on love in the family

Pope Francis has entrusted the Church with his long-awaited Apostolic Exhortation, which describes, in clear and highly practical passages, the joy and beauty of married and family love. Dated, not by chance, March 19, the solemnity of Saint Joseph, it is destined to literally revolutionize family ministry, which the Pope places within the horizon of the mercy of a Church devoted to accompanying and integrating everyone, no one excluded.

The Amoris Laetitia Exhortation is the fruit of the Church’s long and multifaceted journey; indeed, it speaks the language of experience, firmly reaffirming not the “ideal” family, but its rich and complex reality. Its pages offer a candid, open, deeply positive perspective, nourished by pastoral attention to reality, which makes it possible to address even the most difficult issues with the utmost realism, toward “personalized” paths, using the three great tools the Pope himself urges us to employ: listening, patience, and accompaniment. Alongside them are the three action verbs that complete these paths: caring, rekindling, and supporting.
