Carlo Acutis. The courage to go against the current

The life of Carlo Acutis, who was canonized on September 7, 2025, told in a well-documented, engaging, and fresh way, just as Carlo’s holiness was young and brilliant. The book is divided into three parts: the first retraces Carlo’s life; the second explores his rich spirituality centered on the Eucharist; the third presents the exhibitions he conceived, which are now available online. A substantial appendix also contains the paragraphs Pope Francis dedicated to Carlo in the apostolic exhortation «Christus vivit» and documents, through homilies and numerous photographs, the transfer of Carlo’s body to Assisi (April 5-7, 2019) and the beatification ceremony (October 10, 2020); a final section is dedicated to the decree of canonization, promulgated on May 23, 2024. When asked how she would summarize her son’s short life, Carlo’s mother replies: «I would say that his entire life revolved around his daily encounter with God. He did not need many things. I would describe him as going against the tide in a time like the present.»
