Elise Bisschop. God's Little Firefly

This book is a completely new publication. Translated from French, it offers the first opportunity to introduce Italy to the wonderful figure of Elise Bisschop, a young woman who, although marked by illness, knew how to radiate an infectious joy. She lived between 1925 and 1964 in the French countryside and, at her death, left behind a vivid image of Christian faith and inner joy. Her writings, poems, and letters were rediscovered in a providential and surprising manner, and her beatification cause was opened in 2017. Through its biographical profile and direct engagement with her writings, the book invites readers into Elise's world - a world filled with attentiveness, delicacy, wonder, and great joy. The reading is accompanied by illustrations by Sighanda, an Italian-Swiss artist who is also very active in Italy.
