Exorcists Against Satan

Exorcisms, demonic possessions, the age-old struggle between Good and Evil: some turn them into novels and films filled with special effects, but how much do we really know about the subject? The demon’s influence on human life is not merely a legend; it is something real and recognized, a trap into which anyone can fall without realizing it, especially in these times marked by wars, pandemics, and natural disasters. For this reason, in his book Fabio Marchese Ragona has decided to shine the spotlight once again on humanity’s enemy, Satan, sharing the testimony of important exorcists and victims who found the courage to recount their own face-to-face encounters with the Evil One. What connects Pope Francis to a young nun who was the victim of demonic possession? Why have numerous exorcists in Ukraine begun performing the ritual remotely against President Putin? Why were the mystic Natuzza Evolo and Blessed Judge Rosario Livatino mentioned by the demon during certain exorcisms? These questions are answered in these pages, enriched by an unpublished interview on the subject granted by the pontiff to the author and by a memoir, kept in a drawer until now, written by Father Gabriele Amorth, the famous exorcist who died in 2016. Listening to those who have encountered Evil and defeated it is not only important but necessary: only in this way can we be prepared for the challenge of confronting “the prince of this world,” recognize him, and make our contribution to stopping the advance of darkness.
