John XXIII. The "Good Pope"

The author, Teresio Bosco, sketches Giovanni XXIII's biography with a few swift strokes, highlighting his simplicity, pietas, and happy integration into the family, parish, and diocesan contexts, as well as into the ever-expanding spheres of the universal Church. He helps us glimpse the profound reality of the wisdom of the heart that lay at the origin of all Pope John's life: vocation, responsiveness to the call, and a willingness to dare and suffer everything for Christ and with Christ. He invites us to reconsider the luminous testimony that inspired such widespread support and to draw from it encouragement to live well and act rightly. Edizioni Elledici
