The Little Flowers of St. Francis

The Little Flowers of Saint Francis are a timeless spiritual treasure waiting to be rediscovered! They are “little flowers,” that is, beautiful stories presenting the life and miracles of the Poor Man of Assisi, from which flow the highest Franciscan teachings: perfect joy, poverty, love of God, love for all creatures, the sermon to the birds, and the wolf of Gubbio. Reading The Little Flowers means embarking on a journey with the Poor Man of Assisi to discover the stories of the first Franciscans and of Clare, Francis’s little holy plant. It means opening our hearts to an inner pilgrimage that enables us to discover, or rediscover, the profound values of Franciscan spirituality, allowing them to speak to our lives today as well and illuminate them with the power of the Gospel. Let us therefore allow Saint Francis and his companions to accompany us, so that we too may learn to follow the same path as Jesus Christ, to love life, simplicity, and poverty, and to praise our Lord and Creator. The book includes an appendix dedicated to the San Damiano Cross.
