The Saints of the Missal: Mario Giuseppe Restivo. His Life: "My Destination Is the Horizon..."

The biography of the Servant of God Mario Giuseppe Restivo recounts the extraordinary everyday life of a young scout and poet who knew how to live his faith with authenticity, joy, and radical commitment. Part of the "The Saints of the Missal" series, this paperback offers young people, educators, and parish communities a luminous testimony to the holiness of everyday life.

A young scout on the path of everyday holiness

«My destination is the horizon...»: these words encompass the free and profound spirit of Mario Giuseppe Restivo (1963-1982), a young man from Palermo who, in his mere nineteen years of life, knew how to transform the ordinary into an extraordinary experience of faith and service. An AGESCI section leader, sensitive educator, and poet with a contemplative soul, Mario fully embodies the model of the "holiness of everyday life" strongly recalled by Pope Francis and associated with figures such as Blessed Carlo Acutis.

From the blessing he received as a child from Padre Pio - who recognized his inner light at an early age - to his premature death during a journey to the ecumenical community of Taizé, Mario's life was a hymn to joy and the search for truth. An existence lived without pretense, capable of shedding its "masks" to make room for God's will.

The book represents a valuable pastoral and educational resource for various settings:

• The scouting world (AGESCI, FSE, and youth associations): Perfect for Clans, Novitiates, and educator leaders as a starting point for reflection on the Promise, the Charter of Coherence, and the spirituality of the road.

• Youth ministry and catechism: An ideal text to give to children and teenagers on the occasion of Confirmation, summer camps, or spiritual retreats.

• The faithful and enthusiasts of spiritual biographies: For anyone seeking the testimony of a faith embodied in everyday life.
