The Franciscan Crown

This book invites us to rediscover a particular form of the Rosary, which originated within the Franciscan Order and retraces and meditates on the «seven joys» of Mary (the Annunciation, the Visitation, the birth of Jesus, the adoration of the Magi, the finding of Jesus in the temple, the appearance of the Risen Lord, and the Assumption and Coronation of Mary).

This prayer can be a valuable aid in remembering that our lives are full of joys, which deserve to be celebrated and enable us to experience «perfect joy», the heart of Franciscan spirituality.

The book includes an introduction offering a brief history of this prayer, as well as an appendix containing the Wonderful Example of Perfect Joy that Saint Francis presented to Brother Leo, taken from the Little Flowers of Saint Francis, along with some prayers of Saint Francis to the Virgin Mary.
