Our Lady of the Miracle and Alfonso

A grandmother, Nonna Rosa, tells her granddaughter, Rosita, a beautiful true story: the story of Our Lady of the Miracle and Alfonso Ratisbonne. Based on this premise, Brother Alfonso, known as Tartufone, introduces children to the wonderful adventure of Alfonso Ratisbonne, a nonbelieving Jew who found faith in the Church of Sant'Andrea delle Fratte in Rome and began a journey of conversion after experiencing an apparition of the Virgin Mary and discovering the power of the Miraculous Medal. Through a simple yet rich and profound text, colorful graphics, and comic-style illustrations by the very young Giovanni Maria Verduchi - known as GioM - children aged 7 to 10 can learn about Alfonso Ratisbonne's conversion and his “encounter” with Our Lady of the Miracle. Children will discover that the Virgin Mary is always close to them, just as she was close to Alfonso, and that she uses every means to help her children feel God's love.
