From the firsthand account of someone who lived through it, here is the true story of the Madonna of Civitavecchia. Monsignor Girolamo Grillo - bishop of Civitavecchia from 1984 to 2006 - responds to an invitation from Saint John Paul II and, drawing on his personal diaries, recounts for the first time, in a moving and engaging tone, what happened in his heart and life from March 15, 1995, when a small statue of the Madonna wept in his hands.
