The Christian life. Saint Augustine

Christian Life is a spiritual masterpiece presenting an anthology of writings by Saint Augustine organized according to the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, beginning with fear of God and culminating in the highest degree: wisdom. Wisely compiled by Father Antonino Tonna-Barthet at the end of the 19th century, its importance was also recognized by Pope Benedict XV, who described the work as a “golden book” and Saint Augustine as a “sure guide for those who wish to unite themselves with God.” Father Remo Piccolomini offers us a valuable translation from the original Latin, with the aim of conveying the original ardor and depth of Augustine’s thought. Considered “the most complete and well-conceived anthology” on the thought of the great Bishop of Hippo, Christian Life is an essential work for anyone who wishes to discover the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit guided by Saint Augustine and, like him, live in profound union with God.
