Pinocchio's Letters

Rereading the story of Pinocchio “as adults” can offer unexpected literary insights, such as this one by Marco Palmisano, who explores the father-son relationship through the alter ego of the famous puppet. The fictional discovery of a collection of letters between Master Geppetto and Pinocchio allows the author both to reinterpret Collodi’s masterpiece autobiographically and to address the social and spiritual issues facing people today: from blended families and those who died of COVID-19 to devotion to the Madonna and the value of forgiveness. With the approval of the president of the Carlo Collodi National Foundation, Pinocchio’s Letters offers a religious and human rereading of The Adventures of Pinocchio that had not previously been approached in such an original way.
