Aloysia liqueur in a 500 ml bottle, produced directly by the Cistercian nuns inside Valserena Monastery. It is a very pleasant liqueur with a citrus-like aroma, made by artisanal infusion of Aloysia Citriodora. Aloysia Citriodora is an aromatic plant with relaxing and tonic properties and a pleasant citrus-like aroma. It is also known as lemon verbena or cedrina, named for the fragrance of its leaves. It is made according to an ancient recipe from monastic apothecaries. Aloysia has appetite-stimulating properties, making this liqueur suitable as an aperitif, as well as digestive and relaxing properties. It also has a tonic effect. In summer, it can be served neat at the end of a meal or over fruit salad and ice cream, while in winter it makes an excellent punch. Its alcohol content is 34°. Seasonal and limited production. Ingredients: alcohol, sugar, natural flavoring. Historical notes: Since 1968, the Valserena Cistercian Monastery’s workshop has made personal care products. This activity supports the community and helps foundations in mission lands. The monastery belongs to the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance, a monastic institute wholly devoted to the contemplative life. Within the enclosure, the nuns devote themselves to the worship of God according to the Rule of Saint Benedict.
