Descrizione
This book introduces us to a unique woman who lived between the late 13th and early 14th centuries, yet seems remarkably modern and close to people today. Margherita was born blind and with a severe physical disability, and as if that were not enough, she was abandoned by her parents. She did not despair, as anyone might have done, but entrusted herself to God and discovered that Jesus loved her just as she was! Filled with marvelous mystical gifts, she became a point of reference for her entire city and a safe haven for anyone in need of a kind word. In a book rich in precise historical references, Mauro Papalini presents Saint Margaret of Metola, or of Città di Castello, in all her beauty. In the second part of the book, the prayers open a direct dialogue with her, asking for her support and intercession. An audiobook version was produced as part of the “Leggi per me” initiatives, a project resulting from an agreement between the Municipality of Perugia and the Perugia branch of the Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted, and was presented on November 29, 2023.
