My dear priests

What a wonderful vocation that of priests is! In the joyful meditation on this gift, we are accompanied by the enlightening theological clarity that only the Supreme Pontiffs can offer. From Pius XII to Pope Francis, priests will be encouraged to rediscover personally the dignity and responsibility that derive from the sacrament they have received. The faithful, meanwhile, will be helped to rekindle their appreciation for and closeness to their priests through affection and prayer, with the awareness that there are no super-priests. All, clergy and laity alike, will discover that they are called to love ever more deeply the singular “gift and mystery” that is the priesthood.
