Us Between Memory and Identity

The Author wishes to offer those who pick up this publication a selected collection of their editorials published in L'Appennino Camerte from 2003 to 2010. These articles are capable of prompting readers to reflect on the «metamorphosis» of human values, starting from the complex and eventful social and cultural reality of those years. Many of these editorials highlight the ills of a «society of agreed-upon dishonesty». Provocative, evocative, and surprisingly relevant today are the titles that open each editorial, including: - A beauty that leaves no mark; - Liquid life; - The window opening onto nothing; - A victory only for the feet? - It is good to grow rich; - Be men and not foolish sheep! (which this year can fittingly honor Dante on the seventh centenary of his birth). These are not contest topics, but messages to reflect on. May all those who read these pages find themselves again in that «We» that unites us, so that together we may rediscover our identity in the humanity that marks us, the truth that possesses us, and the solidarity that inspires us.
