I Did Not See Him, but I Met Him

Don Decio Cipolloni entrusts some of his editorials to those who, drawn in by the title, will be tempted to read at least a few pages. The articles have a specific focus: faith, examined through the changing events that shaped the Church’s mission from 2003 to 2010. Reread years later, they remain true, relevant, and provocative because they arose from that evangelical wisdom which so deeply marks all who are inspired by it. To those who ask why this title was chosen for a book that neither intends to tell another story about Jesus nor to present a systematic treatise on faith, Don Decio replies: “I wish to invite readers to rediscover, almost as if in filigree, the presence of Jesus in every event, in every painful and thoughtful Christian experience, in every recognition of the good and evil that undermine the Church, Christian culture, and the life of our people.” A Jesus whom we certainly do not see, but whom we cannot help encountering in every event, both public and private, as well as in the daily life of every person.
